Making my Queen Camilla Puppet
I'm sure a few of my local Charity Shops must think I'm a weekend transvestite!
I'm so often riffling through the ladies dresses and feeling the cloth, and getting them off the rail to see how big they are ......
...."Don't worry sir, keep your receipt- If it doesn't fit you can always bring it back"...

What they don't realise is, I am quite capable of cutting them down until they do fit ! I was thrilled to find this paisley cocktail jacket. It was exactly what I was looking for.

The centre opening with the decorative buttons was perfect .
I kept that when I cut out the new smaller panels.
I often assemble an inspiration board to guide the overall style.

If you want to make clothes for glove puppets, you have to be ready to teach yourself a bit of Ladies and Gents tailoring.
And also quite a lot of 'Make-It-Up-As-You-Go'
A little bit of 'Miniature Millinary' skill comes in handy too.

When I made King Charles for shows around the Coronation week, all people said to me was : "He's fantastic, but where's Camilla?"
Time and again : 'Where's Camilla?"
And in this game, you have to give The Public what they want .
