THE XYLOPHONE PLAYER FROM THE 'BASH BATTLE' ROUTINE.
The VISTA CHEF is a bold, good looking puppet.
I was very happy with how he turned out 12 years ago.
There was always something not quite complete about Jonty.
I always felt his 'look' let the pair down a bit. So it's time for Mk2.
As always , everything starts with the two fingered neck tube.
Then a core sculpt in aluminium cooking foil, before a thin layer of Paper Pulp is applied all over.
Teeth and ears are sculpted as separate parts. It's easier !
The next layer of pulp work get the teeth and ears fixed on firmly.

At this stage I decided I needed to make some big alterations that the wig/ bald head gag can work as best as possible.
So I cut off the top of the head. I also took this opportunity to empty out the card and foil filling from inside.
It's a lot of extra effort, but it will make the wig joke more fun.
Also from the new alteration of the head , I can use my iPad to reimagine how the finished face might look.
